How’s your
picker?
What? You didn’t know you had a picker? Well, come on in, sit down and let’s
talk.
You and me –
we use our picker every day.
We eat this
or that.
We watch
program A or B on TV.
We go or don’t
go.
You know –
we pick.
And the big
one is this …
We pick to
either stay where we are or make the big jump to the new. Boy is that a scary picker moment.
Life tries
to make us pick and choose.
Oh, it is
reliable to stay where we are. It’s
familiar, it’s comfortable, it’s known.
And that is not really picking.
It’s remaining.
We’ll never
know what else is available if we don’t choose to move out of what we
know.
The jump is
scary.
And sometimes
we pick and jump and find a whole new world that fits us perfectly. A world where people embrace us, esteem us,
welcome us, listen to us, buy our ideas and buy us.
Reliable and
tried and true is safe, oh yes.
Ah, but to
pick and choose from all the options available, and to choose wisely …
You ought to
try that sometime.
