The Simple Power of Intention

It’s simple really.  Once you set your mind to do a thing, you can probably do it.  What a simple principle. 

Tonight, as I sat down, I told Carolyn I was going to write three blogs before going to sleep.  I need to publish my weekly newsletter, and here I go.  This is Number 3.  One to go before sleep calls. 

I have intention.  INTENTION!

This, by the way, is not a bragging post.  It is, perhaps, an encouraging word to someone who has a burning desire to do a thing and all you need is a kick in the backside and a reminder to add intention to your formula. 

Perhaps you’ll pull off your latent dream yet.

I hope so.

Thoughts Are Things

Thoughts Are Things

I’m fighting a small battle at the moment.  I have taken nearly four months off from my rigorous writing schedule for personal reasons.  My battle is in my mind and in my

thoughts about my writing.  Before my break from writing, I could write quickly and easily.  Now, the thoughts are coming slowly, and with more labor than before.

I’m thinking, at times, that I can’t do what I did before.  And in my heart, I reject that.  I want to write.  I desire to get back to what I was doing four months ago – which was writing one blog daily, and the fiver others were at least written weekly, and sometimes two per week.  And I was producing a weekly podcast.

And my mind is rebelling.  My thoughts are contradicting my will.  I’ve been here before.  I’ve taken other breaks from my writing and I’ve always come back stronger than before.  So, that is the thought to which I cling to now.  I think it is like a muscle that I quit using, and now that I’m back, I have to recondition those muscles. 

What an interesting dilemma.  Read along, and watch me come back.

It All Starts Somewhere

It All Starts Somewhere

Every success, every superstar had a beginning.  Oh, they

weren’t much, perhaps, back then.  They had to grow into their skill and their success. 

And, if they have become a true master, you should listen to their stories of the early days, the early failures.  I’ve been listening to Oprah Winfrey’s Master Class blogs.  Oh my, you should hear some of the stories I’ve heard.  These now GIANTS had their early struggles.  Some lived in their automobiles for months at a time.  Others were kicked out on the street, or abandoned, suffered failure after failure, rejection and ridicule.

And they persisted.  They grew into their success using the seeds and fragments of their failures.

That is the secret to success in whatever endeavor we pursue.

If it really is your desire, then wade through the crap of bad luck, bad timing, bad choices and the awful rejections.  And then use those experiences to build your life and career upon.
