Perhaps Today You are a Lifeboat
Perhaps,
today, when you leave home, you become a lifeboat. How would that be?
You
could, by some words or actions, actually save someone’s life. You could go up to them, and in some magically
mystical way, you could be the catalyst for some good in their lives.
There
are a lot of desperate people in our world today. They wear all kinds of labels, dress in all
kinds of garbs, speak in languages we only wish we half understood. And yet, some of them need a lifeboat. These are dangerous times, and in dangerous
times, people get desperate. They look
for help, and hope, and a savior in human form.
What
can you and I do?
Indeed
… what.
Be
aware.
Be
in tune with who is around us.
Listen
for the unspoken cries.
If
you have something to give, then give if you can.
Lifeboats
come in a variety of ways. Some are
actual boats. Some look like a box of
fried chicken, or a can of soup. Some
lifeboats sound like genuine care and friendship.
Yes …
maybe today is our day to be a lifeboat.
This is what is
on my mind today.
