Resolve
Are
we people of resolve? Here are some
meanings.
Determination
Steadfastness
Tenacity
Doggedness
Firmness
Undertake
Make up your mind
Diets
are won or lost based on resolve.
As
are wars, projects and tasks at hand.
And
so are elections.
Have
you ever seen a political climate when resolve is being demonstrated on both
sides? The Democrats seem resolved to
oust our President.
Our
President seems resolved to hold onto his office and win the next election.
Resolve
takes guts. It takes grit and
determination.
I’ve
had to “resolve” to do or not do a few things in my life. When I faced heart surgery, I had to resolve
to get my heart stronger before my medical team would even consent to the
procedure.
I
resolved to win Carolyn’s hand and heart, and we now resolve to keep our
marriage in good order.
Not
much happens in this life without a bit of resolve. Often times, life demands a lot of
resolve. Once one puts his/her hand to
the task, then there is nothing left but to finish the task.
I’m
not sure which side will win the political struggle that is happening, but
sooner or later, somebody needs to cry “uncle” and end the bickering.
And
that takes resolve too. Resolve that
says, “I’ll live to fight another day.”
I’ve
had to say that a few times in my life.
Divorce, bankruptcy, job disappointment, relationship turmoil.
Resolve
is a good thing. Stubbornness … not so
much.
This is what is
on my mind today.
