Time Is Currency

-->
Time Is Currency

I have time on my hands at the moment.  CB isn’t going to be home for a couple of hours.  I could watch TV.  I could, but I’m not.

I have a strict writing regimen.  I have five more blogs to write by Thursday night, so here I sit.  I’m using the money in my time bank.

Mr. Sandburg’s words resonate soundly with
me at this moment.

I love this thing I call “my writing life”, and it has a demanding voice.  I fear that if I ignore it, the ideas may visit someone else, and that would be a shame, wouldn’t it?

So, time is my friend for these minutes.

What do you need to be doing?

This is what is
on my mind today.

When Your Name Gets in the Lights

-->
When Your Name Gets in the Lights

We’re watching the Golden Globe Awards on TV at the moment.  I just watched Sandra Oh accept her award.  As many others before her tonight, she has honored her fellow actors, crew, tech, producers, et al.  What struck me the most just now is how she honored her parents.

They got their name in the lights for a brief few seconds.  What an honoring act.

When Carolyn reads my blogs to me, out loud, I am honored.

I’ve managed people, and the best part of managing is when we get to honor our teammates.  No one gets on top as a solo act.  No not one.

Share the glory.  Your team mates deserve their share of credit.

This is what is
on my mind today.

What Are You Going to Do about People?

What Are You Going
to Do about People?

Unless you are a hermit and live as a recluse, you’ve going to rub elbows with others.

And what are you going to do about those people you’ll see every day?

Will you be cordial?
Will you smile and offer a kindly greeting?
Will you think the best of each one?
Will you avoid the judge and jury mindset upon first meeting someone?

Will you show kindness and grace in a sticky situation?
Will you offer a hand of kindness when needed?
Will you be the neighbor we wish you had?

There are other situations I could pose, but really, this is a thought starter for now.

And … what are you going to do about all those people you will meet and engage with this month?

This is what is
on my mind today.
