When "YOU" Becomes a Verb

There are three quotes that are rocking my world right now.  I wanted to share them with you and perhaps add comment to each one.  Let’s go.

~If you do not go after what you want,
you will never have it.
As a writer, this hits me between the eyes.  I could rest on my past successes and boast of my six blogs and numerous clicks and how many countries that read my stuff.  All of that is well and good, however, I want to write more books.  I have a novel I started in 2005.  It is time to go after that novel.

I don’t know of a single publisher who is going to come to me tomorrow, knock on my door and offer a publishing contract just because I’m a nice guy, have written four books, and write a few blogs every week.  So, I’m getting ready to rearrange my life and my schedule and finish this book.  Wish me success.  I am going after my dream!

~If you do not ask, the answer will always be NO.
Fear of rejection has stopped more promising careers, more projects, more creative ideas and more inventions than any other factor on earth.

Fear of rejection stops …
  First dates
   Job interviews
Brilliant projects from jumping off the
    drawing board
And thousands of other worthwhile ideas.

I knocked on the banking door 2 years ago.  I asked for a position and they let me in.  What doors do you need to go to and knock on?  Do it tomorrow, for your own sake.

~If you do not step forward, you will always be in the same place.
Seven years ago I was a wanna-be writer.  With a little nudge from my step-son I began blogging.  Appreciation goes to his nudge, but notice I had to step forward.  You won’t believe the fear and trepidation I felt in the early days when it came time to press “PUBLISH”.  Fear came along side. Panic set in.  The negative ninnies camped next door.  You know them, right?

Their mantra goes something like this:
What if nobody reads your stuff?
What if they laugh you out of town?
         What if it’s bad.?
What if you say something stupid?
What if you have a typo or three?

Thankfully I tuned them out.

And I’ve landed on my feet.

There you have it.  Three challenging thoughts that we all need to spend some time reviewing.

Remember, YOU can do YOUR thing better than anyone else.

Let YOU be seen!
